
During the last two decades Muay Thai and Kickboxing have made a public awareness for the positive influence that this type of martial art has on general physical fitness and self defence. Through the media and celebrities the influence of Muay Thai & Kickboxing has escaleted in growth onto the market and has been promoted by such names as Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Carmen Electra and Brooke Shields to name a few who have now been made aware of the influence this activity has on an individuals agility, strength, stamina and co-ordination.
What a session involves
Our sessions consist of more than just learning self defence techniques, we give you the chance to concentrate and alleviate the stresses of everyday life as well as to improve your fitness and well being. This is also accompanied by an opportunity to enhance self discipline through a structured syllabus, helping to build character development as well as mental and physical conditioning.
A normal session consists of a thorough warm up allowing blood circulation throughout the body preventing injury. This includes strength and power exercises, closely followed by various stretching patterns imitating the many techniques that will be used throughout the session. Once you are thoroughly warmed up and conducted the stretching routines, you are then prepared to train and learn.
Although this sounds very mechanical, it is not we all have fun and it is usually conducted with a partner or in trios with other students. This diminishes intimidation and helps to make new friends in an informal way, and our past sessions around the country have proven to build firm friendships and relationships.
It is also important to note here that there is no specific level of fitness or experience required , and so students should not feel intimidated by this. We are here to help you develop.
